How it is calculated
Average = Σ (mark × coefficient) ÷ Σ coefficientsSubjects and coefficients depend on your stream (physical sciences, life and earth sciences, mathematics, humanities, economics…). Official coefficients are in the reference framework and ministry circulars, or on your marks sheet.
The national average then counts for 50% of the general bac average.
Worked example
Math 14 (coef 7), Physics 13 (7), Life & Earth Sciences 12 (5), Philosophy 11 (2), English 16 (2): total = 98 + 91 + 60 + 22 + 32 = 303 over 23, average = 13.17.
